Further information about the project is available at this link: Long Description ---------------- **Scope of the Assignment** Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO Bangkok, the supervision of the Chief of Section for Educational Innovation and Skills Development and direct guidance of the Programme Specialist, the individual consultant shall draft a report and a brief on the uses of frontier technologies in teaching and learning in schools in selected countries in the Asia-Pacific region based on information collected through school case studies and desk research. More specifically, the consultant shall undertake the following tasks. 1\. Contribute to the preparation of a template to serve as a guide for school case study researchers, prepare at least two sample school case studies, and provide technical support in school case study documentation processes, including through the following activities. 1.1 provide suggestions and advice to prepare and finalize a template for school case studies, designed to guide case study researchers to collect and document the information needed for the analysis; 1.2 draft at least two sample school case studies of different types in line with the template to serve as examples for school case study researchers; 1.3 introduce the template to school case study researchers and provide follow-up support for the collection and documentation of the information needed for analysis. Long Description ---------------- 2\. Analyze the information collected through the school case studies above, undertake any additional desk research needed, and draft a report of the findings. The report shall: 2.1 be about 18 to 24 A4 pages single spaced using a size 12 font and ‘Normal’ margins in MS Word, not including annexes; 2.2 include the following sections: executive summary, introduction, methodology, analysis and findings, discussion, and conclusion; 2.3 include a discussion of implications drawn from the findings with regard to the factors and conditions that enable and support schools to successfully apply frontier technologies in teaching and learning in primary and secondary education. 3\. Based on the report prepared above, draft a brief on the situational analysis of the uses of frontier technologies in teaching and learning in primary and secondary education. The brief shall: 3.1 be geared toward the general public. It should be devoid of jargon and written in a way for non-specialists to read and understand it easily; 3.2 be about 1000 to 1500 words. Long Description ---------------- **Deliverables and Timeframe** All deliverables shall be submitted to UNESCO Bangkok in English. The individual consultant is expected to submit the following deliverables to UNESCO Bangkok for its approval. - Two draft sample school case studies by 9 July 2021. - Two final sample school case studies, incorporating and reflecting all the comments received from UNESCO Bangkok, by 23 July 2021. - First draft report by 12 November 2021. - Final draft report, incorporating and reflecting all the comments received from UNESCO Bangkok, by 3 December 2021. - Draft brief by 14 December 2021. - Final brief, incorporating and reflecting all the comments received from UNESCO Bangkok, by 21 December 2021. **Location** The consultant shall be based in her/his usual place of work. **Fees** Up to US$11,760 depending on qualifications and experiences. Language: Excellent written English. Experience: - At least 5 years of work experience in areas related to educational and learning technologies. - Experience in conducting multi-country research and writing an analytical report. - Familiarity with technological contexts of schools in three or more countries in the Asia-Pacific region. **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- Education: Advanced university degree (PhD or equivalent) in educational technology or other related fields.
