Consultant – Business Intelligence Specialist, Local (HQ Gaza);

Expected duration ¿ The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds. ¿ Remuneration for this consultancy will be $1,490.30 and depend on fund availability, qualifications, and relevant experience. ¿ The incumbent will be only in Gaza.

Duties and Responsibilities - Design and development of the Data warehouse dimensional model according to the provided business requirements; - Design and development for the OLAP Database using SSAS database objects; - Deployment and configuration packages for all created work components; - Oversee design and development for reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using MS Power BI; - Build Analysis Services reporting models; - Develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with warehouse standards; - Develop documentation, training materials and conduct training sessions when needed; - Understand the business requirements and develop data models accordingly by taking care of the resources; ¿ Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: ¿ A university degree or master’s degree from an accredited educational institution in information technology, information management, Information systems, computer science, computer engineering, Software engineering, Business Administration, Management, or other related disciplines;

Experience: ¿ A minimum of 4 years of experience for a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years for a master’s degree in software applications development and implementation

• Experience in design Reports and Dashboards using Microsoft Power BI connecting to OLAP cubes or any other data sources;
• Experience and familiarity with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack having Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, or SSIS.
• Experience in designing cubes for the provided complex business requirements;
• Experience in Microsoft Business Intelligence Architecture;
• Experience in Microsoft SQL Server Architecture;
• Experience in end to end Microsoft Business Intelligence Implementation projects;
• Experience in writing MDX /DMX expression for Microsoft Analysis Services.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as Microsoft Azure, SQL data warehouse, PolyBase, Visual Studio, etc; - Experience in data preparation, data gateway, and data warehousing projects. - Familiarity with ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS, and other JavaScript libraries.

Competency: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal and collaborative skills. - Excellent analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports. - High degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with little supervision. - High level of personal integrity and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity. - Eager to Learn & Adapt to Newer Technologies.

Language: ¿ Fluent in spoken and written English. ¿ Fluency in spoken and written Arabic.

Additional Information UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking a Business Intelligence Specialist responsible for building analysis services reporting models, connecting to data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business Intelligence solutions. The consultant will report administratively to Head Information Technology Service Centre at Headquarters Gaza and technically to the Head, Enterprise Arch & Business Intelligence Unit (HQ-Amman).
