Duties and Responsibilities •Support the work of OHCHR to strengthen protection, respect and fulfilment of the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people in line with international human rights standards.

Campaign strategy and community engagement •Project manage social media engagement initiatives, including user-generated content; •Liaise with colleagues in the areas of digital marketing and influencer engagement to guide strategic approaches; •Support digital and social media editorial planning and processes for UN Free & Equal national campaigns; •Liaise with UN Free & Equal national campaign teams to assure alignment of digital products and campaigns to strategic communication and public information strategies; •Support UN Free & Equal national campaigns and OHCHR offices worldwide on their day to day social media efforts related to LGBTIQ+ equality including overseeing translations of digital media content into Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish for the national campaigns; •Liaise and work with graphic designers and agencies to produce graphics, animations and other social content for digital campaigns; •Drive the planning, development and implementation of dynamic, interactive and meaningful social media content strategies for the UN Free & Equal campaign in collaboration with the campaign team; •Liaise with OHCHR communications and thematic colleagues; •Coordinate the campaign’s outreach to civil society and human rights defenders to ensure quality control of digital media products; •Conduct research into communications best practices and other topics on behalf of the team; •Contribute to the preparation of briefing notes, talking points and speeches for senior UN and OHCHR representatives on issues related to the campaign; •Track diversity and inclusion indicators for campaign social and digital media output; •Preparing donor reports and other documents for external stakeholders; •Perform other duties as assigned.

Website Content Development and Updates •Oversee, manage, update and maintain written content on www.unfe.org including blog posts, factsheets and annual reports, in collaboration with staff and other consultants; •Research and develop new and attractive web content in collaboration with internal and external partners; •Edit and write web content and stories to drive engagement and inspire audiences to take action for LGBTIQ+ equality; •Ensure every piece of website content is edited in accordance with campaign best practices and has correct grammar and spelling – as well as for continuity, logical arrangement, readability, clarity of expression, internal consistency and is SEO-friendly; •Regular monitoring and evaluation of website traffic and audience behaviors, setting clear targets for growth and providing regular progress reports; •Develop the Web Editorial Strategy based on lessons learning and analytics. •Integration of feedback as required.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: first degree in law, human rights multimedia, communication, journalism, international relations, public relations or related field. Experience: -A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in digital and social media, communications, public relations and/or human rights is required.. -Experience working on the human rights of LGBTI people required. -Strong written and oral communication skills, including experience in copy writing for social media the web, and the ability to tailor messaging in alignment with the campaign’s branding and mission is required. -Knowledge of and experience with the Adobe suite design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) -Experience working with the UN system is an asset. Language: Fluency in English
