Contract

This is a Consultancy contract. More about Consultancy contracts.

For every child, a voice

The Global Content Strategy Section (GCS) within Division of Global Communication and Advocacy (DGCA) at UNICEF creates compelling public-facing content to mobilize the support of decision makers and the public for children across the world. GCS plans, develops, and produces compelling and creative content that contributes directly to the achievement of priority advocacy and communication objectives for the organization. Through multiple platforms and in multiple languages, GCS draws attention to the many facets of UNICEF’s work, encouraging public support, participation and action, as well as ensuring greater transparency and accountability.

For every child, an Advocate

UNICEF is mandated to advocate for the protection of children’s rights, and our Strategic Plan recognizes the importance of advocacy to deliver against UNICEF’s mission and secure results for children. Advocacy plays an essential role in supporting and pressing governments and other influential actors to ensure measurable, sustainable change for children, whether through private influencing, mobilizing public support, policy advice, or a holistic blended approach. UNICEF has announced four Global Advocacy Priorities (GAPs) to be implemented across the organization and is working with global partners to deliver advocacy that secures real change for children.

Purpose

The purpose of this consultancy is to lead the creative development of cause-led creative multimedia content to engage target audiences and contribute to realizing our global advocacy goals around child health and childhood immunization, stronger primary healthcare and the global pandemic response - including UNICEF’s critical role in achieving equitable and affordable access to COVID-19 vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics in every part of the world.

The successful candidate will lead creative ideation, development and execution of digital content, with specific focus on creative multimedia content, across the health advocacy portfolio. The role will be responsible for supporting a multi-disciplinary advocacy taskforce focused on health, vaccines and the pandemic response, working in close collaboration with advocacy leads and communications specialists across media, web, social, fundraising, supply and beyond.

While keeping abreast of industry innovations and best practices, the creative content lead will conceptualize, commission and help produce both ‘evergreen’ content for global channels and responsive campaign content for specific activations and major influencing moments. They will develop creative concepts and pitch decks, storyboards and scripts for videos, photography, and other multimedia products, contribute to creative concepts for supporter engagement and activation concepts for Goodwill Ambassadors and content for use with and for partners and donors, and help commission photographers, videographers, , editors and other digital experts to realize production.
