UNICEF’s Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) has ambitious goals to deliver on income, influence and brand recognition. A key driver of increased income is a strong brand and a key strategy to deliver that is through engaging content, to both build the brand and engender support.

The Covid-19 pandemic is affecting countries across the world and forcing UNICEF to find new ways to engage supporters, donors and partners. This is why PFP’s Supporter Content Team seeks the services of an experienced producer /videographer to provide remote production services, scriptwriting, and multimedia editing for virtual events to engage donors, partners and supporters.

How can you make a difference?

The role is part of the Supporter Content Team in UNICEF’s Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) and aims to support the production of narrative content for virtual events to private sector audiences.

The Supporter Content Team is looking for a consultant who will:

  • Develop strong narrative concepts for virtual engagement events (planned and sudden onset emergencies);
  • Source and repurpose existing compelling content suitable for virtual events;
  • Work with UNICEF field offices and consultants in the field to produce content (including mobile phone content)
  • Support in identifying speakers / presenters for the event and work with relevant teams in PFP to ensure the messaging is expressed in a compelling manner;
  • Develop the script and work closely with relevant PFP teams to ensure the script is compelling and on message;
  • Edit engaging and compelling packages for virtual private sector audiences in accordance with UNICEF’s ethical imagery guidelines and technical specifications
  • Package the material in a modular format (e.g. clean versions) so that the content can be used in multiple ways after the virtual event (i.e. ensuring clean versions, transcripts and shortlists are made available)
  • Support fundraising market offices with queries and produce easy to follow “how to” guides on producing compelling virtual experiences
  • Support the content team with relevant content production needs

DELIVERABLES

The consultant will work with the PFP supporter content team and relevant units in PFP to shape concepts and narratives for virtual engagement events, direct and produce content in close coordination with relevant field offices and consultants in the field, edit the material and package it in a modular format so that it can be used in multiple ways after the event.

These narrative events will cover themes resonating among private audiences including how UNICEF is supporting children during emergencies such as Syria and Yemen, World Children’s Day, UNICEF’s HAC 2020 events (3), and thematic areas such as: nutrition, WASH, and sudden onset events within a COVID-19 pandemic.

Specific deliverables include:

Planning, narrative design, scripting:

  • Work with relevant teams to design a production planner for an estimated 10 engagement events;
  • Work with relevant teams to design the narrative of each of the events including available content and new content needs;
  • Source presenters and speakers (in coordination with relevant PFP unit and field offices);
  • Write scripts for events;
  • Overarching creative direction.

Direction and production of content:

  • Repurpose existing content for events and work with relevant offices to produce and edit new content. Each event will have two (2-3min in duration) video packages / photographic slideshows;
  • Work with technical production team or field offices to ensure live links ups to speakers are compelling and reflect the key messages;
  • Ensure all content meets UNICEF ethical and quality standards.
  • Produce at least 3 “how to” videos/guides on common problems or requests for advice from fundraising markets

Packaging content:

  • Ensure the content is modular (including clean versions) scripts
  • Ensure content curated on WeShare

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in communication, broadcast media, multimedia
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a producer, video editing, scriptwriting
  • Solid skills in software including Adobe Premier Pro, Zoom, Photoshop, Microsoft Office
  • Strong visual story telling skills
  • Strong scriptwriting skills
  • Strong video editing skills
  • Experience of working for an international organization or an NGO is desirable
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently and with teams in the field
  • Fluency in English is required, and a working knowledge of Spanish and/or French is an asset
