Job Description

SCOPE OF WORK:

The Child & Youth Protection Supervisor is responsible for supervision of staff and direct services programs overseeing quality control for both s contractual compliance and service provision to clients engaged in IRC Miami’s Immigrant Children’s Legal and Service Partnership (ICLASP) and Child Protection/Unaccompanied Children program (CP). The Child & Youth Protection Supervisor provides technical assistance and leadership to an established casework team in Miami and is responsible for cultivating, developing, and maintaining community partnerships and other community resources under the ICLASP and CP umbrella. The Child & Youth Protection Supervisor reports to the Safety & Protection Manager of IRC Florida.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Program Leadership

- Supervise program staff to ensure that core services are provided within the required timeframes - Conduct regular and timely case file reviews with team members; Ensure compliance with case file documentation and reporting requirements; - Ensure client success with a strong emphasis on empowerment through high-quality service that supports clients to thrive in their community - Oversee administrative duties and program deliverables required are met by all subcontractors - Provide technical assistance and trainings to staff, partners and the community - Work closely with staff to promote strong relationships across programs while fully implementing a client-centered service methodology across all service areas - Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the regulations, reauthorizations, and related policies concerning both programs - Provide training, guidance, and technical support to staff, volunteers, and interns engaged in the ICLASP and Unaccompanied Children programs - Represent IRC at community meetings and other external settings - Build and maintain collaborative relationships with various agencies and with their assistance develop safety plans/protocols for clients, staff, and the office as it relates to the programs - Ensure program activities are implemented consistently with donor requirements and provide technical support, oversight, and leadership to the case management team - Develop and maintain strategic community partnerships with other service providers, government agencies, and other key stakeholders - Work with the Program Manager and program staff to monitor and manage all program budgets and oversee that program outcomes meet proposed goals - Providing crisis intervention to support child protection staff and UCs. - Other duties as required.

Community Engagement

- Work with team members to utilize referral systems for participants to access outside services; - Work with volunteer coordinator to establish volunteer opportunities related to case management; Ensure team is effectively using and managing interns and volunteers; - Represent in internal and external meetings, as necessary.

Compliance & Administration

- Ensure that programs comply with all contractual, reporting, and match requirements - Ensure quality data collection across all programs; oversee the production of reports and impact data to provide insight to internal and external stakeholders - Ensure donor-mandated match requirements are accurately tracked and achieved - Represent assigned programs with IRC HQ. Ensure compliance with HQ initiatives and guidance

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree in social work, international affairs, or human services related field preferred

Work Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years of related experience, including 2 years’ experience providing direct services related to unaccompanied children or immigrant youth populations - Experience in the provision of immigration legal services preferred - Prior grant and people management experience

- Strong commitment to ensuring the success of the IRC mission while adhering to the values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality as defined in the IRC Way - Ability to handle complex and sensitive cases and to work effectively with clients who have a wide range of psychosocial, protection, health, immigration, and criminal justice issues - Well organized, self-directed, and highly motivated; ability to communicate and work effectively with collaborative partners, the community, and clients in a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment - Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Fluency in English required; Spanish speaking preferred - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines - Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet research

Working Environment: Standard office work environment.
