Child Protection MEAL Officer

Duty station: Dnipro with visits to other field officer

Key working relationships: Position Reports to: Senior Child Protection Manager Internal collaborations within IRC: Child Protection Team, MEAL Teams, as well as ProL Teams, WPE Teams and other teams External collaborations to IRC: Child Protection partners and actors

Job Overview/Summary: The Child Protection MEAL Officer is responsible for the development, performance, regular update, integrity, security and accuracy of Child Protection program databases. She/he is expected to perform all sort of database related work including data entry, data clean up, database management, data visualization and statistical reporting under the supervision of the Sn Child Protection Manager. The MEAL Officer will provide guidance to child protection teams on how to collect and regularly update accurate information in the field using the relevant tools provided by the IRC.

Specifically, the Child Protection MEAL Officer will be responsible for:

Program Implementation: - Support Child Protection teams in documenting and reporting on program activities - Ensure that forms, data collection tools, databases, and records comply with international and IRC standards of working with children and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality - Develop and manage filing system for child protection reports and records - Ensure the immediate input and timely update of data into relevant IRC databases - Ensure data security and accuracy of data entry - Enter all client’s registration info, activity and program related data in a timely and accurate manner using approved databases and data collection tools, and cross check data with hard tools and correct errors, as needed - Ensure incident report forms and activity reports are submitted from the field staff, reviewed for completeness and entered in timely manner - Report and clear any logical error or missing data to relevant staff - Produce statistical reports using the database that are being used (Excel, CommCare etc.) - Generate program reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis (Statistical & Graphical) - Maintain CommCare databases and conduct trainings and orientations on the use of the system. Timely update and adjustment of existing data collection tools, according to local context. Support field and program stuff in utilization and update of existed data collection systems. - Provide ongoing support to the child protection staff regarding data collection and entering the data in designed data collection systems. - Modify existing data tracking sheets and databases according to requirements - Set up new tracking systems and Excel databases as needed to document and record CP program activities as led by the Sn Child Protection Manager - Test databases, correct errors, clean up data and make necessary modifications. - Work with IT department and his/her supervisor to develop and control user access permissions for each segment of database according to program management specifications. - Ensure compliance with IRC IT security procedures and measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure. - Translate the information received from the field into English. Language adaptation of standardized tools into local languages. - Perform other duties, as needed or requested by the supervisors.

Research, Learning and Analysis - Support the child protection managers to develop and implement regular monitoring and evaluation activities for the protection program. - Ensures quality information management including beneficiary count and timely update of program performance tracking in coordination with the protection coordinator and the information management team. - Promote the use of CP field data information in project planning and monitoring activities.

Coordination & Representation Support the timely information sharing regarding challenges and needs at the field level

Requirements: - Language: Ukrainian, and excellent verbal and writing skills in English - Experience developing and managing databases and conducting statistical analysis and reporting - Knowledge of and experience with Commcare or similar data collection tools (Kobo Toolbox) - Excellent reporting skills using Excel and extracting information from the master database and running reports. - Demonstrated capacity for working effectively in a diverse and multi-disciplinary team environment - Advanced knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel, including creating tables and forms, data analysis, using pivot tables, and charting/visualizing data in dashboard format. - Strong attention to detail and excellent data entry skills - Excellent communication and presentation skills - Demonstrated understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients/beneficiaries - Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting - High degree of flexibility and strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail - Computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel
