Adolescent development and engagement especially in the context of ending child marriage is a flagship result for the India Country Office of UNICEF. Currently this programming is across 14 States through partnerships with the government, CSOs, youth networks and community based organisations through UNICEF support on system strengthening, social protection, community level awareness, engagement of adolescents and their participation and focus on gender equal norms. The proposed assignment will support the child protection section in helping with implementation of the programme through coordination, knowledge management, documentation and monitoring support for this area of programming.

Under the direct supervision of Child Protection/ADAP Specialist who leads on the above area of work, the UN Youth Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

Support Country Programme implementation:

-Contribute to the implementation of the child protection work plan for the 2018-2012 country programme, with special focus on programme implementation, monitoring, assistance to states, documentation and research on the beam on ADAP and Ending Child Marriage (ECM)

Knowledge Management:

-Contribute to knowledge management by maintaining a database of programme related documentation, publications and reports in coordination with UNV on knowledge management and also support child protection officers at State level through regular communication and information sharing -Contribute to regional and global bulletins as requested -Contribute towards the regular review and monitoring of the programme on ECM -Coordination with other sections as needed for reporting on ADAP beam

Report and proposal writing:

-Prepare programme and project status reports required for the prorgamme, Management, Government reviews, programme analysis, Annual Reports, etc. -Contribute to the planning and review of the programme status as and when required -Assist in drafting briefing notes, talking points, funding proposals, presentations

and / or demonstrated interest (up to two years) in programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation Developing country work and/or field experience an asset Good knowledge of child protection, human rights and gender. Good analytical, negotiation and communication (verbal and written) skills. Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Power point, database programs, etc.) Good understanding of quantitative methods. Familiarity with South Asia or other developing countries an asset.
