Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Centralised Warehousing Unit of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), duty station Abyei. The incumbent reports directly to the Chief Supply Chain Management Officer.

Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for the planning, administration, organization and centralized management of warehouse operations. Within delegated authority, the Chief of Unit, Property Management will be responsible for the following duties: •Leads, supervises and maintains oversight over the activities of the Centralised Warehousing Unit and its components. •Develops, in coordination with the stakeholders, effective procedures on management of United Nations property at the Mission level, including SOPs, guidelines, administrative instructions, and monitors their implementation. •Ensures that the Mission’s property records are accurate and auditable. •Conducts inventory analysis for warehouse managed inventories and regularly advises Technical Units/Inventory Senior Users, coordinate with the Inventory Management team to ensure timely fulfillment of requirements for movements of goods, visibility of inventory ownership, cycle counting and physical inventory, shelf life monitoring and inventory analysis. •Prepares budget submission for the Unit. •Acts as the Mission’s focal point on all issues related to the management of the United Nations property and ensures that it is managed and controlled in compliance with the UN regulations and rules, ST/AI on Management of Property and relevant manuals and guidelines. •Provides advice to mission management and stakeholders on all matters related to policy and procedures governing the management of United Nations property during its life cycle. •Monitors compliance with the departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on property management, identifies measures for improvement and implementing of all management actions as per the DOS Directive and Work Plan on warehouse/property management. •Ensures accuracy and timely submission to the UNHQ of Financial Reports on Property, Plant and Equipment (PP&E) and financial inventory. •Develops plans and strategies pertaining to warehouse inventories; Provides input towards the development of supply chain management plans (demand, supply, replenishment and safety stock) budgets and schedules; Collaborates and coordinates with technical units to forecast demand and gather inventory requirements for future planned projects/activities in support of service delivery objectives. •Establishes and implements a mechanism for monitoring and managing of performance of the Unit and its personnel. •Performs other duties as required.

Competencies PROFESSIONALISM: Knowledge of the substantive field of work in the areas of supply chain management, in particular warehousing, inventory management, distribution, warehouse safety management, as well as related procedures, practices and environmental standards. Education Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management or related field. A first level degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in property management, property control, and asset management is required. Experience in support services and logistics/supply chain management would be an asset. Experience in military or UN field operations is highly desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required; knowledge of the other is desirable.
