CCAC Graphic Design Consultant
Result of Service The ultimate results of this consultancy will be: - A set of high-quality design files ready for print or to be used online, and - A set of reusable templates, design files and artwork In order to carry out projects to completion, the designer will be asked to:
- Take the design “brief” to record requirements and needs
- Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
- Conceive, design, lay out, and coordinate materials that clearly convey concepts and information
- Engage the elements of photography, illustrations, charts, typography, graphic layout, color, style, etc. to deliver the intended message
- Create products that can be adapted for multiple media channels
- Share design project files with the Coalition secretariat
Amend final designs to incorporate comments and gain full approval

Duties and Responsibilities The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is a partnership of governments, intergovernmental organizations, and representatives of the private sector, the environmental community, and other members of civil society.
The CCAC is the only international initiative working on integrated climate and clean air solutions to reduce the rate of near-term warming. It focuses on fast action to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) including methane, black carbon, HFCs and tropospheric ozone.
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) hosts the Secretariat at the Economy Division in Paris.

The CCAC Secretariat is seeking a Graphic Design Consultant with strong data and design skills to create visual stories about climate and clean air topics.
The Graphic Designer Consultant will be asked to create infographics, maps and data visualizations for print, digital and social publication to help our audience understand technical concepts and scientific data. Other tasks will include updating existing materials, report layouts, and carrying out ad-hoc projects to support events and other outreach activities.
Qualifications/special skills A university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Graphic Design or a related field. A secondary level diploma in combination with five (5) years qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree. - A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in graphic design and data visualization, supported by a portfolio of diverse digital and print work. - Knowledge of web design principles and/or animation is desired. - Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and up-to-date with industry-leading software and technology - Creative and proactive, capable of developing new design concepts, graphics and layouts for multiple formats, including print, web, presentations, and social media - Proven ability to adapt technical concepts and scientific data into clear, relatable charts, maps, and illustrations - Strong knowledge of design principles and best practices for different media formats, such as printing specifications and website usability - Organized, detail-oriented and capable of managing large and/or multiple projects - Strong communicator, with the capacity to work with colleagues remotely
Languages Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Other UN languages are an asset.
