The objective of the project is to enhance the capacity of higher education institutions to respond to the skill needs for national development in African countries by facilitating collaboration between higher education institutions and the industry, enhancing labor market-oriented teaching, and strengthening competence-based learning. The project will ultimately contribute to tackling youth unemployment, addressing skills mismatch, and promoting socioeconomic development in Africa. Under the overall authority of the Assistant Director-General for Education (ADG/ED), guidance of the Director of the Division for Education 2030 Support and Coordination, and the direct supervision of Chief of Section of Higher Education, the incumbent will support the implementation of the China Funds-in-Trust Project Phase III on higher technical education, and particularly perform the following functions: Long Description ---------------- 1\. **Project management and coordination**: - Provide technical backstopping and coordinate project implementation in participating countries in collaboration with UNESCO Field Offices and country focal points; - Prepare various written outputs, e.g. concept notes, background papers, briefings, analytical notes, reports and inputs to publications; - Support budget proposal development, planning and monitoring in the implementation of the work plan and budget; - Plan and organize capacity-building workshops /networking activities for beneficiary countries; Participate in field missions, including provision of substantive and administrative support, data collection, etc. **2. Communication and knowledge management**: - Facilitate information sharing among colleagues, participating countries, stakeholders, implementation partners and the donor; - Develop and implement the project communication strategy; - Raise visibility of the project through maintenance of the official webpage, preparation of advocacy materials including news releases, brochures, project newsletters, etc. **3.
