The International Task Force on Teachers for Education 2030, also known as the Teacher Task Force (TTF), is a unique partnership created in 2008 to advocate for teachers and the teaching profession around the world. It is dedicated to raising awareness, expanding knowledge and supporting countries towards achieving target 4.c of SDG 4. In 2020, it launched a new Knowledge Platform, which aims to provide quality, curated information on teachers and teaching to a global audience. It also serves as a working space for TTF members. Long Description ---------------- Under the overall authority of the Director, Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems Division, and the immediate supervision of the Chief of the Section for Teacher Development and Head of Secretariat of the International Task Force on Teachers for Education 2030 (Teacher Task Force), the incumbent will act as Associate Project officer (Curator) of the TTF Knowledge Platform. The incumbent major activities include: - Based on the needs of the project and the TTF membership, support the continuing development of the TTF Knowledge Platform. This will include working in close collaboration with the TTF team to identify needs and propose solutions as to how to overall improve the platform. - Where appropriate or necessary, propose updates or improvements to the curation guidelines in a view to the overall improvement of the quality and relevance of the content of the Knowledge Platform. Long Description ---------------- - Provide oversight of the document database in the Knowledge Platform, including: o Manage all aspects of document entry into the Knowledge Platform, including the identification of new resources, their entry, entering key words and document tags and the drafting of abstracts. o Reviewing all documents submitted by Teacher Task Force members into the site for quality and liaising with members in case changes or corrections are needed. o Review existing entries in the database to ensure consistency and quality of entries. Update the authors’ taxonomy in the backend when necessary. o Draft / edit abstracts if none already available in English. Manage the translation process for the abstracts and their entry in the Knowledge Platform, ensure that each document has an abstract at least in English, French, Spanish or Arabic (knowledge of all four languages is not a requirement for this position). o Identify documents of particular pertinence for highlighting to TTF members. - Support the development of a new Teacher Resources Centre on the TTF website, which will collate and curate teacher resources and training materials which are currently available through TTF members. This includes identifying and adding to the Platform relevant materials, develop criteria for their organisation and curation, and propose a structure of the organisation of the new Resource Centre and oversee its development.
