He/she will be responsible for liaison between the Cabinet and the Communication and Information Sector, providing guidance and reviewing content while keeping the Director-General and Chief of Staff closely informed and ensuring implementation of their decisions. The incumbent will be responsible for the following: 1. Monitoring global developments in the fields of Communication & Information and providing analysis, advice and recommendations to the Director-General and Chief of Staff on programme strategies and priorities necessary to respond. Overseeing effective implementation of these within the Sector through close liaison with the Assistant Director-General and based upon feedback from the Director-General and/or Chief of Staff. 2. Producing and providing analysis and inputs to briefings and information documents related to bilateral meetings and missions of the Director-General and/or Chief of Staff, accompanying them to these engagements when required and ensuring appropriate follow-up action. Analysing opportunities for additional bilateral meetings and high-level participation in relevant events and make recommendations accordingly. 3. Reviewing and providing analysis and critiques on draft publications, reports, correspondence, public statements, press releases, talking points and other external communication materials related to the Director-General's and UNESCO's engagements in relevant fields to ensure maximum visibility and adherence to UNESCO's mandate and priorities. 4. Providing advice and oversight of external communications linked to flagship UNESCO priorities as requested by the Chief of Staff, coordinating with colleagues responsible and relevant central services to ensure consistent visibility through web, social media and press and overall adherence to strategic objectives. 5. Ensuring overall coordination of planning and internal communication around major UNESCO events and campaigns as requested by the Chief of Staff, ensuring efficient delivery by the teams responsible for logistics, content, participants, technical aspects, branding and communication, among others. 6.
