The Programme promotes and supports the Member States in the development of hydrological research and capacity building through phases of 8 years; it is currently in phase VIII on water security (2014-2021). Under the supervision of the Regional Hydrologist for Latin America and the Caribbean, the Administrative Assistant shall: 1\. Assist in the coordination, organization and monitoring of activities (events, workshops, meetings) at the regional level. 2\. Support the coordination of logistics related to services, experts and institutions that are counterparts of the activities (in the context of a health emergency, mainly procedures associated with communication platforms, participation of experts, coordination of test sessions, assistance and follow-up, keep updated the records of participants according to the requirements of UNESCO reports; in a regular context coordination of hotels, transportation, food services and others). 3\. Write draft invitations, newsletters and other relevant documentation for the coordination of activities. 4\. Ensure the correct file of documents of the activities of the Programme. 5\. Assist in the different tasks that are required to carry out the activities of the Programme. The ability to express yourself and understand other languages of the region, particularly Portuguese, will be especially valued. **Computer skills:** Office applications (text, presentations, spreadsheets, others). **Communication:** management of the internet and social networks. **Permit to work in Uruguay** **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- Ability to write clearly and concisely on issues related to development management, as well as knowledge about development issues in Latin American and Caribbean countries; ability to collect, systematize and analyze data and information. Previous experience in international or regional organizations will be also valued. The ability to plan and organize one's own work, to perform various tasks, in support and coordination with the work team, will also be weighted positively. The ability to relate with people of different nationalities and cultures are required for the position.
