If you have a broad experience with daily accounting, payments and knows your debit/credit, then you might be the one we are looking for our central "bank team". You will work closely with your colleagues and will support the business and the company's purpose.

Who are we?

The FRISC (Finance, Supply Chain and Risk) Department is one of the core support functions in headquarters and consists of around 75 talented and engaged people who are responsible for DRC’s financial and supply chain affairs globally in close cooperation with the operational departments.

You will be a part of the Central Accounting Unit at our headquarters and refer to the manager of the Central Accounting. You will be in good company with 10 other committed and competent Accountants. We are very busy, and our daily work is packed with exciting challenges.

Your tasks

As an Accountant in the DRC Danish Refugee Council, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and follow-up of bank payments, both domestic and foreign payments.

Your primary work areas will be:

  • Prepare and execute payments to both domestic and foreign recipients
  • Verifying that any transaction is supported by proper supporting documentations as per DRC’s financial rules and regulation and proper authorization is obtained prior releasing a payment.
  • Daily bookkeeping
  • Follow-up on differences
  • Daily bank to ledger reconciliations
  • Participating in month- and year end closure
  • Back-up for your colleagues in the same function
  • Support for your colleagues in the organization
  • Ad hoc tasks

About you

To be successful in this role you need to:

  • Have a relevant accounting education
  • Have at least 5-6 years of experience within similar tasks
  • Have a good knowledge of Excel
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Danish and English
  • Have a good sense of humor and are able to maintain an overview when things are busy
  • Take ownership, be service minded, and passionate about good collaboration
  • Have a good work ethic, be hardworking and have the ability to use your common sense

  • We use Microsoft Dynamics 365 as an ERP system, but specific knowledge of it is not a requirement, as training will take place.

We offer

Contract length: Permanent

Workplace: Borgergade 10, Copenhagen

Working hours: 37 hours per week incl. lunch

Start date: As soon as possible

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and HK. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
